Our faces are central to our identities, relationships, and physical and mental health. But some people’s faces have been irreversibly damaged in extreme accidents, attacks, ballistic injuries or by medical conditions.
Could face transplants be the answer?
Face transplants are happening now all over the world. However, it isn’t as simple as moving one face to another. There is so much that most people don’t understand about the patient and surgical experience during the face transplant process.
We’re so excited to share this video about our research, and why it is important that everyone is given the opportunity to think about the big questions surrounding face transplants.
