We have been awarded ‘Plus Funds’ by the UKRI Development Network to run a training and development programme over the course of 2022-23. Our course is called ‘Working with Creative Industries: A workshop series’. We are working with the Sensing Spaces of Healthcare project to deliver this programme.
It involves six sessions, organised in pairs under three themes:
First steps of working with creative industries: Why, who and how?
What is a creative industry and what is our experience with them? (in person, London). 13th May 2022 (afternoon).
Beyond Communication: What creative approaches can add to research projects (online). 22nd July 2022 (afternoon).
Making the most of partnerships
Co-design, co-production, collaboration or commission? Managing expectations (online). 14th October 2022 (afternoon).
Case Study session: creative perspectives on collaboration (online). 13th January 2023 (afternoon).
Integrating creative methods into our own research
Design: Design methods & design thinking (online). 24th March 2023 (afternoon) TBC.
Arts: Creative research methods (in person, London). 9th June 2023 (afternoon).
This is a cohort scheme, which will involve supported live problem-solving throughout. Participants (or their representatives and team members) must be able to attend all six sessions (unforeseen circumstances, of course, aside). We can support childcare costs, including organising childcare for the in-person events if required. All travel and catering is paid for, and we will try our best to accommodate any other requirements to support you to be able to attend the programme in full – just get in touch!
This scheme is primarily for Future Leaders Fellows and their teams, though we may be able to expand to other UKRI schemes in due course. If you are funded by UKRI (for example as an AHRC Leadership Fellow) and you are interested in joining us, please get in touch with victoria.bates@bristol.ac.uk and we will note your interest if there is capacity.
